Elohi is Tsalagi (Cherokee) for Earth. I chose this name out of deference for our planet and the beauties and wonders that nature embodies.

Are your jewelry handmade?

Yes! All of my designs are handmade using a variety of macrame and kumihimo weaving techniques. My jewelry are made in Springfield, New Jersey.

What is macrame?

Macrame is a knotting technique that is used in a variety of applications. It it thought to originate in the Middle East. Macrame is heavily featured in my designs.

What is kumihimo?

Kumihimo is a Japanese form of braiding that was used for a variety of applications, such as rope making. Beaded versions of kumihimo weaving is heavily featured in my designs.

Where did you learn your techniques?

Lots of trial and error! I am a self-taught artist and enjoy tinkering around with different techniques and mediums. My specialty is hand weaving using macrame and kumihimo.
